Vulgar Pragmatism

When it comes to chasing tails, there a means that are seen as utility.

Utility seen for the sake of it. Chased with the easily measure money source.

What a land into the defeatism, it's always the short-term. At least for the others, such the noting of SEO fads and the fluctuations between, there's always a way to be patient and follow the long-line.

That's not for the others chasing the short-term business.

Build a business model on a stack of cards, it's what you get.

Age of Skeptism has become Age of Cynicism/rejection/contempt

Negativity. It's the reaction that puts the mail into the junk-bin. This is where none of the benefit of the doubt rests. From welcome messages, to spam.

Negative reactions have coupled with the age of scepticism to the symbolism of hope.

It happens, first thing to ask, this is the intended prospect and is it worth prospecting? Next, there could be a million reasons for the denial, it ain't a denial of you, are they points of cynicism from their obsession of business. With the detection of a rote scrip of all the rote mechanisms occur.

Only then, to the unwritten realm where the continuing interaction with the audience will happen. With the beholder's share.

With this simple law of physics and of creation.

Publishing is hard

Another Repost from the Bsky beast.

Can commercial publishers really be that vapid? Yes, yes they can. Built on image and numbers.

Yet this is business and naturalising of all values so that the show must go on.

It's all this cartoonish villainy that I can be cynical about, yet again. All this mcdonalidifcation it does is part of all the dysfunctional business models that will boom and bust through fads, then lay-offs.

Any capitalistic construct, such as serialisation and franchising, will have a series of hoops, and a platform.

Yeah, a measure of salesmanship, not of contribution.

This is accurate. Writing is a form of art. Publishing is a form of gambling.
Hot Publishing Take: You can write an A+ book, but unless it gets huge publisher support or gets randomly lucky, it won't be seen as successful. Publisher support is a $ decision you can't impact; luck depends on viral social media/celebrity endorsement. All we can do is keep writing and hope.

Pursuit of literary entertainment/The medium

This is what Harlen Ellison with all his attempts to play of works, that was his end goal.

Literary Entertainment. Is it an oxymoron, or a paradox? Literature does not need to attract or repulse, he simply needs to pursue with the distinction into the world of metaphysical creation into the world where when need to see it. From the raw intuitive impulse, into an idea and into a medium.

Edutainment is a thing that we have to wrestle with, the paradox of attention of the thing that draws the eyes is the thing that can detract from the message and themes.

Well, the attention economising of everything for influencer ad creep has always been a thing, makes the analogue experience of picking up a book then reading it. The medium with what matters of where to place and select which has the learning increases.

Frustrating ones art that it's worthless

All this totality of the metric sickness in the totality of work is worthless. To the business of google and facebook to sell its direct distribution. That's its entire intent.
The connection with somebody with intent though, that's the worthy thing. That's what most of the time, those numbers are not for.

To measure the wrong metric.

When will this addiction end? Reaching out, right or wrong, dominion and affiliation. Ethics aside.

All unwritten rules of social media regarding reaching out socially are fake and dumb, and are only upheld because maybe one or two people without boundaries rubbed the originator the wrong way. EVERYONE is fishing for attention and let no one tell you otherwise
