You're burning your trust with potential clients if you decide to annoy them within the DMs of these open, self-publishable platforms. I did not wake up wanting to be spammed, or hustled. Neither do you.
The open, free-to-publish platforms have no gatekeepers though, for better or worse here's me setting some boundaries.
There are plenty of places out there who are looking for freelancers like yourself, Like fivver or etsy, even sofurry has potential clients willing to pay and give you the money for the work you want to do.
Yet doing calls to actions, asking for the sale to random strangers you haven't done the barest of research, their financial situation, and schedule? At the first moment?
No.
This is spam. Please don't specialize into becoming a telemarketer. You're better than that. There are better ways to raise your status.
You realize that with me becoming a client, you're accessing my 20+ years of illustration experience because I'm an artist too, I cannot afford the opportunity cost with my age now. Taking something of mine that's priceless, it's my time. I'm scraping it all I can with my hobby as it is.
