Furry/exploitation/fanservice, Study of Roots.

Three videos about three different genres.

Furry is the interest and subject of anthropomorphic animals. Ash Coyote has done a documentary about it.

Exploitation, or sexploitation, is a genre of storytelling production exploring sexual themes and other themes such as horror, violence, and drama.

Broey essays an exploitation themed move at the end.

Fanservice: The themes of suggestion, nudity and y'know. Hackneyed deliverance of that 'thirst'. A sub-genre of romance, erotica.

Bennet the sage covers a fan service anime in his review of queen's blade, obviously suggestive themes. With it's analysis of 'T and A'.

They mix.

Why has these three means of production flourished in self-publishing? Because big publishers within games and entertainment aren't willing to touch it.

The fandom has indulged in this creativity since the long tail and its indifference, accommodates all. It also has flourished with the free price tag since nobody had buyed it, yet. Until a cycle of social media grooming came, for better or ill.

These are the industries that are put into place, freelancers have made a living with it.
