Television killed the radio star, and now, television is being tripped by user-generated media, on the internet. |
It's crowdfunding from the audience, Jim sterling ain't having that commercial conflict of interest, he's funding his work hiving a good dollop of literary non-fiction criticism, (stuff that ain't commercial friendly) to us, the users. Say what you will with his political views and other parts. He's picking himself.
So it shouldn't be a lottery of corporate appeasement, pleasing and delighting those tired of burnout and serving them. Becoming an attention merchant, and now he's the one being pitched to, not playing the advertisers' algorithm game.
So yeah, this blog post is a vote for crowdfunding.
21 with explicit rejection for commercial publishers.
