Psychological freelance tip: No Grandstanding

The more time trying to hype for the masses, the less time one has to make a difference to the smallest viable audience.

Since the dawn of the internet. Social media has promised us a platform. Plenty of exposure to help us make a living, Apparently.

Yet, these little sectors of the internet are the most ignored places, nobody wants to read anything. Especially at the start, obscurity is going to be the enemy since it's all a folksnomy.

One of the tricks it does is that it's easy to grandstand our ideas with nothing to to back it up. To overshare. One of the selling points, to be perceived rather than actually be.

So don't grandstand in meetings or in the chatrooms, why?

The short term dopamine release of confessing the goals ain't worth the hours apon hours of doing it, of specializing the time, tools, and resources. All doing it solo!

Because nobody wants to read your content, unless it's impactful enough to share. Enough to be worth curating by the folksnomy, of the smallest viable audience.

A small standing, a whisper, is more manageable. The old axiom applies here, don't promise goals one can't keep.

It does not have to be perfect. This blog can carry on because to don't have to grand opening it.
