Reflecting on why people respond and don't charge. Along with the time when they don't.
At a certain point, during one social media career. There's a point, the user can't interact with the infinity of the internet.
Why don't they respond, respecting the status role one is taught in high school?
Well, status roles of the tribes, of the informal groups online, along with the narrative it makes into people's head. The qualitative, sociological aspect matters more.
Since high school ain't mattering now. Also, the social tools may be not enough to handle the online wild west.
Networking to the smallest viable audience matters more than nebulous encouragements about improving social skills to give a positive grade on a test. There is no intentional learning and enrolment on the latter. So there is no direction.
It's better to post to an algorithm that is social media and build an audience rather than have their IP taken away by big publishers and other unaccountable corporations who cover their bad behaviour with standard legalese. Waiting in line for that is untenable. The surplus labour for that task impossible.
No other choice.
