Forgetfulness of the camaraderie, and our courtship rituals for that have been commodified for direct marketing. |
My take on this post, a revisit.
A profession is expected to 'produce', produce on demand, on schedule.
Productivity is for machines though, what is effective is more better.
Freelancing specific, not entrepreneurial that's more collaboration specific.
In order for professionalism, a commitment to occur, artificial constraints of less, that the market offers. The industrial standard of a schedule, a mise en place of alone time; interruptionless and meetingless space. Finally, connection with an audience who are willing for him to show up. It's the deal that we get for dancing with opportunity cost.
To let go of self-indulgence.
Without that commitment, they are merely amateur, following their musings and whims whenever. Even when that muse is a liability. That's okay, at least it ain't hack work.
The hack/vendor does not care, hollowed by the market serving the direct transaction only. To second guess. They are replaceable, compared to the pro and amateur.
