Why don't i like the white? Why so consistent with the lack of white? Why?
Maybe its Romanism of the hues of old artist sketchbooks, or the caressing tones that tickle the eye receptors. The reminding of others that is handiwork with intention rather than a afterthought.
Plenty have used the white background to great effect, though, Gurney lists some examples. From pin ups, portraits and plotted artifices and improvisations. Black and white ink, comic artists use this to great effect.
So I may explore it with these inky scribbles, Now mature.
